专利说明:
Filter configuration FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to air filters for use in buildings. More specifically, the invention relates to cartridge-type filters having a frame inside which a bag-like filter cloth is arranged and which can be used as units to be placed transversely in an air duct or the like. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Fans or blowers are used in connection with ductwork to circulate air through a room or area of a building. The fan typically draws air from inside the room through an exhaust air duct to force the air back into the room through the supply air duct. To heat or cool the air, the fan can also force or draw air through the heat exchanger. To prevent the accumulation of dust in various devices as well as in the ductwork downstream of the fan in the exhaust air duct, filters can be installed next to the fan. The filters cause a pressure drop that reduces the amount of airflow. To minimize the pressure drop, the cross-sectional area of the filter is generally increased by adding pleats to the filter fabric, installing the filter at some angle to the duct, or forming the filter into an elongate bag extending longitudinally into the air duct. All filters must be cleaned or replaced from time to time according to the building maintenance cycle. Used air duct filters, such as cartridge filters, are usually discarded and replaced with new ones. Depending on the number of ducts and fans and their size, the number of replacement O cartridges in one maintenance cycle can range from one to several hundred. A typical ro filter usually consists of a durable metal or plastic frame with intermediate rods 2 which form slits in one direction across the frame. The filter cloth bags are attached E to these slits between the intermediate rods or otherwise, in a pleated manner. D 25 When the cartridge filter is discarded, the metal (or plastic) frame is also discarded. This is, of course, a waste of resources. Individual filter bags are generally not intended to be removed from the frames, and are attached to the frames by some means from below. This will contaminate the frames with dust, debris, and grease (e.g., in the kitchen) that flows into the exhaust duct, and should be removed anyway. Thus, there is a need for improvements in such maintenance work to find a solution to the filter waste problem and reduce the work required when replacing filters. It is an object of the present invention to solve or alleviate these problems to a large extent. The invention is characterized by what is set forth in the characterizing part of the appended claim 1. According to the invention, there is provided a filter assembly comprising: - a frame having a top and bottom side and inner and outer edges, said inner edges of said frame defining an opening, - a bag-like loose part of filter material with an open top and at least one closed bottom part, a first strip of fastener attached to the outer edge of said frame and extending around the outer edge of the frame; and - a second strap of the fastener attached to said top of said loose part. The loose part is arranged to fit into the opening of said frame so that the open top part is bent - over the frame to cover the cover part of the frame at least partially. The second strip is paired with the first fastening strip to form a closed connection to the outer edge of the frame when the strips are completely joined together. The structural element “tape” is used here to characterize any elongate fastener intended to form a closed connection between two different paired N 20 parts of the fastener. The word tape is thus intended to be understood broadly as a carrier or fastener to be connected to the fastener N, or as an integral part of the fastener itself. A few 2 such exemplary tapes are provided, but it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that - any elongate fastener may be used in accordance with the Protective Requirements without departing from the scope of the invention. 3 S 25 In some alternatives, the frame is provided with parallel spacers across said opening N and defining slots across the opening. The loose part can then have several bags formed in a pleated manner, and they have a divided open top part and separate closed bottom parts. Each bag can then be arranged to fit in one slot. In some other alternatives, the frame may be provided with a grid of intermediate bars across the opening, thereby defining a plurality of slots. In such cases, the loose part can be formed of several bags with, for example, tapered and closed bottoms and a divided open top. Each bag would then be designed to fit in one slot. The honeycomb lattice structure can also be envisioned. In some alternatives, the first ribbon is the first half of the zipper and the second ribbon is the second half of the zipper. The insert is arranged to fit the frame over the open upper frame bent in the frame outer shell for covering, at least in part. The first and second zipper halves may be paired to form a closable zipper when the lock on either of said first and second zipper halves is pulled. The end to be placed on the zipper lock on either the first and second zipper halves is placed on the lock of the opposite zipper half to form a closable zipper. According to some alternatives, the first strip is a first half of a so-called velcro fastener and said second strip is a second half of a velcro fastener. When the loose part is arranged in the frame with the open top bent over the frame, the second strip overlaps with the first strip, forming a closed connection when said second strip is pressed against said first strip. According to some alternatives, the shape of the frame is a rectangle or a square, but of course other shapes are possible, such as a circle. The frame is preferably made of a rigid material, Q such as wood, metal or polymeric material. However, even flexible materials can be used dS if the rigidity required to hold the filter assembly in place is provided by other means. N E In some alternatives, the cross bars extending across the opening defining said slots are> 25 bars attached to the frame by any fastening means, such as s nailing, gluing, welding or clip means of any shape. O Alternatively, the frame and spacers may be a single piece and formed of the same material in one manufacturing process. The invention offers considerable advantages. In addition to the obvious reuse of frames in filter assemblies, the frames are also always clean because at least the top of the frame is always covered with filter material. Filter assemblies with a frame made of wood can be disposed of — in an environmentally friendly manner, by recycling, or they can be incinerated. Frames made of other materials can also be easily recycled because the loose part of the filter has to be removed. No attachment of separate filter bags is required, the entire loose part of the filter is simply dropped onto the frame and closed with a zipper. The invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 shows a prior art filter assembly; Figure 2 shows an example of a frame of a filter assembly according to the invention; Figure 3 shows an example of a loose part of a filter assembly according to the invention; Figure 4 shows a first step in forming a filter assembly according to the invention; Figure 5 shows a second step in forming a filter assembly according to the invention; O - - - - - N Figure 6 shows a finished filter assembly according to the invention; N Q Figure 7 shows an alternative ready-made filter assembly according to the invention. 00 N I 20 Figure 8 shows an alternative frame of a filter assembly according to the invention. a O o. a - - an pa. O Figure 1 shows a prior art filter assembly 1 with a frame 2, spacers + S 4 and a filter bag 3 attached to the spacer point 5 one for each O S to the gap formed between the intermediate bars 4, or to the edges between the intermediate bars 4 and the frame 2. The direction of air flow is from the top or top of the frame 2 down to the bags, and the filtered air exits the filter through the bottoms of the bags 3. Figure 2 shows a square frame 6 of a filter assembly according to the present invention. The frame 6 has a top side 7a, outer edges 7b, inner edges 7c and a bottom side 7d (not 5 - visible). The inner edges 7c define an opening through which intermediate bars 8 pass, which in turn define three slots A, B and C. Clearly, the number of slots is a design criterion depending on the size, conditions and requirements of the filter assembly and can range from one up to any number. In addition, the first half 9 of the zipper is shown with its band attached to the outside 7b of the frame 6 and running around the edge of the frame. In this exemplary embodiment, the zipper half 9 is provided with a lock 10. Figure 3 shows a bag-like loose part 11 of filter material. The loose part has an open upper part 14 which is divided by several bags formed in a pleated manner, in this case three bags 12. The second half 13 of the zipper with its strap is attached to and surrounds the upper part 14 of the loose part. The material of the loose part depends on the application and can thus be made of several different materials - such as paper, cotton, polyester, etc. The loose part according to Fig. 3 can be arranged to fit into the opening of the frame according to Fig. 2. over a frame, the frame covers the whole front face 7a. The second strip is paired with the first fastening strip to form a closed connection to the outer edge 7b of the frame when the strips are completely joined - attached to each other. N S Figure 4 shows the first step of forming the filter assembly 3 according to the invention. Figure 3 shows the visible part of the insert 11 is dropped into the direction of the arrow 6 through the frame. D In this example, each bag 12 of the loose part 11 fills one of the slots A-C in Fig. 2. z Figure 5 shows the second step of forming the filter assembly according to the invention, E 25 - where the loose part 11 is fitted to the frame 6 so that the edge 14 of the loose part is bent N on the frame 6 to completely cover the frame side 7a of Fig. 2 up to the zipper. The first and second halves 9, 13 of the zipper are paired with each other in a conventional manner to form a closable zipper when the lock 10 is pulled, which can be provided on either the first or the second half of the zipper. Clearly, pairing of the first and second halves 9, 13 of the zipper can be accomplished with a zipper lock-adjustable end 15 on either zipper half, which is then inserted into the lock 10 on the opposite zipper half. Figure 6 shows a finished filter assembly 16 according to the invention, in which the lock 10 is pulled around the upper part 14 of the loose part 11, thus closing the zipper formed by the first and second halves 9, 13. As can be seen, the cover of the frame 6 and the intermediate rods 8 are now covered by the loose part 11. Figure 7 shows a filter assembly 17 with a loose part 20 according to an alternative solution of the invention. Here, the first strip 18 is a first half of a velcro® type fastener, and the second strip 19 is a second half of a velcro fastener. As shown in Figures 2-6, the loose portion 20 is arranged to fit the frame with its open top bent over the frame to cover the top side of the frame. The halves of the Velcro tape then overlap on the outside of the frame to form a closed joint when the second tape 19 is pressed against the first tape 18. Figure 8 shows a square frame 24 of a filter assembly according to an alternative embodiment of the invention. The frame 24 has a cover side 21 and spacer bars 22 and 23 which form a grid across the opening of the frame. The lattice defines a certain number of holes 25 (here o 20 nine holes). A loose part (not shown) formed of a plurality of bags and having an O-split open top and separate closed bottoms can then be placed in a frame 24, one ro bag in each well 25. 2 I It is clear that alternative solutions of the present invention are not limited to certain structures or materials presented here, but also extends to their counterparts, such as the awareness of one of ordinary skill in the art in the relevant fields.
